A unique opportunity to meet key industry figures and share, debate and listen to the latest developments was presented to over 40 individuals at the recent seminar on the 8th October, held at the Holiday Inn Forum, Kensington. The day included 6 educational presentations, centred around topical issues relating to the Play Pathfinder agenda, presented by leading independent professionals from across the industry.
Aileen Shackell, lead author of the Play England / DCSF Design for Play guide took us through the document and spoke about incorporating natural elements into successful play design. Roger Davis, RoSPA play inspector spoke about the necessity for risk in play and Alison Moore-Gwyn, Chief Executive of FIT took us through the revised changed to the 6 Acre Standard document; now know as Design & Planning for Outdoor Play.
Following lunch we visited two play areas: Westfield Park and St Lukes Park, both offering very different perspectives for achieving successful play spaces.

Feedback from those who attended was overwhelmingly positive and many delegates commented that they rarely get the opportunity to absorb so much valuable, current information in such a digestible format.
